The Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) is delighted to announce the UK’s first ever National Ferry Fortnight which will take place between Saturday 9 May – Friday 22 May 2009. National Ferry Fortnight is a brand new initiative from the PSA which will see some fantastic offers and deals from the PSA’s Sail and Drive members. As well as hot offers, National Ferry Fortnight will also be the time for unveiling the latest statistics and trends in ferry travel.
With more than 40 million passenger journeys made by ferry every year and a billion pounds of investment planned for new services and ships between now and 2011 ferry travel has never been so accessible and easy. National Ferry Fortnight is a celebration of these advancements and to encourage people who have not considered a ferry holiday before to jump on-board.

As an island, ferry travel is an integral part of our transport network and we are hoping that this promotion will be far reaching, inspiring and encouraging a new generation of travellers to discover the treasures that are on our doorstep and remind those who have forgotten how accessible and easy ferry travel can be.”
The PSA consumer website for Sail and Drive members, www.sailanddrive.com, will showcase the National Ferry Fortnight offers and news as well as giving visitors information on routes, itineraries and advice for all types of travellers, from those with families, pets or an overseas property to those looking for an off the beaten track adventure either in the UK or the continent.
